Purpose and Limits

This is a private reference site with no authority over the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Erie County Jail, Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, courts, or other public agencies. It does not store official records. It cannot confirm a person’s custody status, cause a release, change a release date, file a court document, or answer for an agency.

The site points visitors toward public inmate and jail record resources in Erie County and to outside research tools. Official facts must come from the office that created or maintains the record.

Acceptable Use Rules

• Do not use the site in a way that violates any law.
• Do not use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone.
• Do not rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions.
• Do not try to enter accounts, systems, or areas without authorization.
• Do not operate bots, scrapers, or similar automated collection tools.
• Do not interfere with site operation or another visitor’s access.

Fair Credit Reporting Act Limits

Erie County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. Its advertising partners do not provide those services through this site. By continuing, you agree not to use site information for any FCRA-covered purpose, including:

• Deciding whether to hire, retain, promote, or dismiss a worker.
• Evaluating a tenant, lease applicant, or housing request.
• Setting creditworthiness, loan terms, or an insurance premium.
• Determining eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit.
• Making any other decision governed by the FCRA.

Services Outside Our Control

Links may lead to release records, sheriff and corrections sites, court portals, legal aid resources, or outside search services. Erie County Released Inmates does not control their content, privacy practices, data handling, prices, or availability. A link is not an endorsement. Review the terms and privacy notice of any outside service before using it.

Information Provided As Is

The site and its content are supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty or promise is made about:

• The accuracy, completeness, or current status of any information.
• Continuous or uninterrupted access.
• The absence of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses.
• The scope or quality of results returned by a search partner.

Custody status, release information, court dockets, and public records can change without notice. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, a jail, ODRC, a court, or another government agency.

Liability Is Limited

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Erie County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for losses or damages arising from access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site or an outside resource.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Erie County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, and partners harmless from claims, losses, costs, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by your use of the site or your breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Material

Site text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Erie County Released Inmates or its content partners, except for material clearly owned by another party. You may not copy, distribute, republish, or modify protected site material without prior written permission.

Updates to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted here. Continued use after an update means you accept the terms then in effect.

Access May Be Revoked

Access to all or part of the site may be limited, suspended, or blocked at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

Ohio Law Governs

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction within Ohio.

Terms Remain Severable

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
